Recorded live on USA

Tuesday, July 5th

Stamford Studios, CT

Vince McMahon hosts as Tuesday Night Titans returns with a different format! Co-hosting is Lord Alfred Hayes in front of a live studio audience as they offer a round-up of the week’s breaking news in the World Wrestling Federation, with exclusive footage of the Brother Love Show.

Brother Love hosts his weekly segment, the Brother Love Show: ‘Brothers and sisters, as we approach SummerSlam in our country’s capital city, we are here today on this July 4th weekend to honor a real American. No no no, I don’t mean Hulk Hogan. I am talking about a true American who exists as the personification of our capitalist values; a very generous donor to this segment on World Wrestling Federation programming that Jack Tunney’s office is distancing itself from, and why? Because you get the gospel truth here each week, brothers and sisters, and you know it! But the truth scares some people of little faith. Well God bless America! The guest I speak of is a man who has given far more to our television time in financial aid than that rich movie star Hogan, or WWF World Champion “Macho Man” Randy Savage, or any of their miserable fans! My guest is none other than the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase!’ The Millionaire enters, with his valet, Virgil. Brother Love continues: ‘Mister DiBiase, it really is an honor to have you here on the Brother Love Show that you’ve helped keep on air.’ DiBiase: ‘You’re welcome, Brother Love; it’s a worthy cause and I only give to worthy causes, because it’s my money! I’m filthy rich, and I deserve to be, unlike some of the lazy layabouts I see in the crowd here tonight, Brother Love! And they boo me? Before I came out here I heard you mention “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan. And ironically, those two have a problem with me. I think they’re jealous because in spite of their success they still don’t have as much money as I have! Well, it ought to be me who has the problem with the both of them! Because in case you forgot, Brother Love, I bought and paid for the WWF World Championship after Andre the Giant defeated Hulk Hogan fair and square earlier this year, only for Jack Tunney to take the belt from me and put it on Savage! He’s obviously listening to all these nickel and dime, penny-pinching peons who love those two so-called Mega Powers of the World Wrestling Federation! Well, I’ve still got Mega Bucks! And like I’ve said all along, I’ll gladly face the both of them, at the next best thing to WrestleMania: SummerSlam. But I won’t be facing them alone. Because, with my money, I bought myself the best tag team partner money can buy in the history of this business, Brother Love. That’s right, I got Andre the Giant himself!’ Andre the Giant enters with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, who shakes DiBiase’s hand. DiBiase: ‘Bobby, this is a great opportunity. Tunney told me I could decide my partner for myself, and who better than one of my favourite business partners?’ Heenan: ‘You know you can count on me, Mister DiBiase.’ Brother Love: ‘My my my, it’s the Genetic Freak who’s dominated this business since the moment he set foot in it, and the man who Hogan stole a lucky win over at WrestleMania III. But you had your revenge, didn’t you, Andre?’ Andre: ‘I destroyed Hogan and ended his reign as WWF World Champion. But Savage? He is now the champ, yet without ever having beaten me!’ DiBiase: ‘So you see, I’m not the only one who has a problem with the Mega Powers. Everyone thought I was here alone, with only Virgil to watch my back when I’m in that ring. But I’m not. Andre the Giant is my partner, and he hates the Mega Powers just as much as I do! So I’d say it’s money well spent.’ Heenan smirks, as Andre looks at him with suspicion. DiBiase continues: ‘Everybody’s got a price! Mwahahahahaaaa!’

In a video exclusive to TNT, WWF President Jack Tunney announces he has reinstated Danny Davis as an official referee here in the World Wrestling Federation.

A video airs showing Muhammad Ali, Liberace, Cyndi Lauper and Ozzy Osbourne at previous WrestleManias, with talking head shots from various on-screen talent, including Vince McMahon: ‘WrestleMania was such a success on Pay-Per-View, and now the World Wrestling Federation are presenting a Pay-Per-View spectacular each season. It’s never been more in demand. It’s unlike anything anyone’s seen before. It’s the Superbowl, it’s the Oscars, it’s the Olympics, it’s theatre. It’s sports, it’s entertainment. Get it?

Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura commentate on the all-new All-American Wrestling!

Hillbilly Jim wins his match.

Exclusive World Wrestling Federation “Get It?” t-shirts are advertised.

In the Face to Face segment with “Mean” Gene Okerlund, Jake “The Snake” Roberts (from a studio in Stone Mountain, GA) demands that “Ravishing” Rick Rude (from a studio in Robbinsdale, MN) never again wear tights bearing the image of his wife Cheryl. Bobby “The Brain” Heenan claims he has no right to make such demands.

Shockingly, the Fabulous Moolah accompanies “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart and the Rougeaus to ringside for their match, snatching the mic from (and intimidating) ring announcer Mike McGuirk and herself announcing, ‘I’m here to declare Jacques and Raymond truly Fabulous Rougeaus! Take it from me – the Fabulous Moolah!’

On the Update segment, Sean Mooney reveals information about the first of the planned Pay-Per-View seasonal spectaculars: ‘We’re all still trying to get over the impact had on the World Wrestling Federation by WrestleMania IV, and it seems the planned Pay-Per-View spectacular for the summer, SummerSlam, will help put the past to rest and send us into the future! Now the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase has confirmed Andre the Giant as his tag team partner against the Mega Powers of WWF World Champion “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan, the Main Event has been signed. The Mega Powers, with Miss Elizabeth, will face Andre the Giant and “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, with Virgil. But does Andre bear any resentment towards Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, who seems to have profited from brokering the deal of the tag team? We’ll investigate. Whatever happens, there’s never been a tag team match quite like this, and everyone is wondering just how an ordinary referee is going to be able to officiate the match!’ In an exclusive video, “King” Harley Race says he will be back to continue to defend his crown. In other news, Chief Jay Strongbow is shown honouring Hulk Hogan by giving him a Native title: “Running Wild.” Hogan says he has devised a finishing move that he will name Running Wild, as a homage to the Chief, and because ‘Hulkamania is going to be running wild like never before – the best is yet to come, brother!’

In an excellent, exclusive WWF World Championship match between “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Andre the Giant, Miss Elizabeth continuously draws referee Dave Hebner’s attention to Andre using the ropes, only to be carried backstage by Virgil before “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase runs in and assaults Savage, as Andre argues with Hebner – prompting Elizabeth to return to ringside and again draw Hebner’s attention to the misdemeanour, so Savage wins by disqualification and retains. Afterwards, the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase blames Virgil for not ‘taking care of Elizabeth.’

“Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan are seen having a meeting in the back of the studios. When they realise they’re being filmed, they leave. Vince McMahon: ‘Well, our investigative journalists have been given carte blanche by WWF President Jack Tunney to report on any scoops they can find, due to much demand by World Wrestling Federation fans – and it seems they’ve already caught something intriguing on camera!’ Lord Alfred Hayes: ‘I must say, Vince, had I seen them talking usually, I might not think anything of it, but their secretive behaviour can only arouse suspicions. Could this have anything to do with Heenan’s recent problems with his greatest charge, Andre the Giant?’ Vince: ‘Well, we don’t know for sure that there’s any problem there, though I must admit, everyone’s talking about last week’s look from Andre!’ Footage shows again of Andre glaring at Heenan as he bragged about a business deal with DiBiase. Hayes: ‘If looks could kill, Heenan wouldn’t be meeting with Hart, Vince – he’d be dead!’

Brother Love (to the camera, starting his segment): ‘Touch the screen! Feel the love! But this is the summer of no love lost between many men here in the World Wrestling Federation, as we approach the WrestleMania of the summer – SummerSlam! And how fitting that it will take place in the city of brotherly love itself, Philadelphia! Brother Love loves that, and I looove youuu! My my, I understand this summer-time spectacular is already shaking the foundations of Titan Towers and the offices of WWF President Jack Tunney. So touch the screen! Because the power is here, in the World Wrestling Federation. And speaking of power in the WWF, here is the man himself, President Jack Tunney!’ Jack Tunney walks onto the set to strained applause. Brother Love: ‘Mister President, thank you for at least realising and accepting what an asset to your programming this segment is! Could this mean you’ll start paying for our production costs?’ Tunney: ‘You’ll do just fine as you are, Brother Love, without my office fully endorsing you. You’re lucky you’re still on the air. Now let’s move on; I agreed to be here to speak to the people.’ Brother Love: ‘Well, I understand you have some concerns about the main event of SummerSlam that we broke news of just here last week?’ Tunney: ‘My concerns are simple, Brother Love. With so many single stars involved in the main event at SummerSlam, along with their larger-than-life personalities, in addition to their respective seconds on the outside of the ring, I have heard the concerns of senior referee Earl Hebner and decided that no ordinary referee can possibly be expected to control this match. And so, I have chosen a former wrestler equally larger-than-life, who will undergo advice from Hebner and all the referees in the World Wrestling Federation in preparation for the Main Event at SummerSlam between Mega Powers WWF World Champion “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan, and, in the opposing corner, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant.’ Brother Love: ‘And who is this man? Danny Davis?’ Tunney: ‘Goodness, no. This man is none other than Big John Studd!’ Big John Studd enters, to a pop from the crowd. Tunney shakes his huge hand. Brother Love: ‘But- but, that can’t be fair! Big John Studd has a history with Andre the Giant! They hate each other!’ Tunney: ‘And that’s why this man is the only one who can control this match. He’s not intimidated by any of them.’ Brother Love: ‘It’s not right! You can’t do this-‘ Big John Studd grabs Brother Love by the collar! Studd: ‘I’m not going to take any crap…from anybody!’ He lets him go, leaving him gasping for air, before leaving, with Tunney following him! There’s an enforcer for SummerSlam’s main event!

Haku, with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, wins his match.

On Face to Face with “Mean” Gene Okerlund, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake (from a studio in San Francisco, CA) and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine (from a studio in Seattle, WA), with “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, argue about who’s to blame for the end of their “dream team,” and who deserves to be number one contender to the WWF Intercontinental Championship! Bruti’ says he already defeated Honky Tonk Man, at WrestleMania, and that means he gets a rematch. Jimmy reminds him it was by disqualification, and he still has to go through Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, the one man, Hart claims, who made it a “dream team” for Brutus because he had a partner to carry him through matches, and a former WWF Intercontinental Champion, no less. Brutus says he’ll show Greg the meaning of a “dream team” when he says Goodnight Irene, puts him to sleep, uses the two blades of his scissors to slice his long golden locks, and has him dreaming of the days when he used to be WWF Intercontinental Champion, whereas he’ll be on his way to making the dream a reality. Greg says Jimmy can trust him to stop Brutus, and be a rightful, decent challenger to the Honky Tonk Man. Brutus says if that ever happened, they’d tear Hart’s stable apart and the foundation would start to crack. Angry, Jimmy tells Brutus to never again bring up the Hart Foundation to him, and that he doesn’t care who the WWF Intercontinental Champion is, as long as he’s on his books! Greg takes exception to this, saying he’d challenge Honky Tonk Man himself, and take the belt back for himself, and he expects Jimmy’s complete support! Brutus laughs at the dissention.

“Ravishing” Rick Rude, with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, wears tights bearing the image of Cheryl Roberts for his match, so her husband Jake “The Snake” Roberts runs to the ring and rips the tights off him, leaving him wearing only a jock strap and strips and shreds of his tights! Bobby “The Brain” Heenan is outraged! Jake: ‘You wanna act like a male stripper, huh? There: be a stripper!’

Sean Mooney (on Update): ‘We caught up with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan this week to get clarification on his status with Andre the Giant…’ Heenan: ‘Everybody’s wondering what’s going on with me and Andre the Giant, and I’m willing to set the record straight here and now: I didn’t sign away my rights to Andre, I just made a business decision that, as his agent, I felt was right for him. He is now in the main event of the first ever SummerSlam, and as a bonus, he gets to enjoy revenge on both Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage in one single match. My relationship with Andre is just fine, you can even ask him. And that’s all I have to say about the issue.’ Mooney: ‘Andre himself was unavailable for comment. Nonetheless, SummerSlam is going to be close to WrestleMania IV in terms of its spectacular star-studded line-up! The main event itself, then, sees an unprecedented tag team match with singles stars WWF World Champion “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan teaming up to face “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant, with none other than Big John Studd acting as special referee having been hand-picked by WWF President Jack Tunney to control the match! For the WWF Tag Team Championship, the Hart Foundation, Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, in their first major match since splitting from “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, challenge the champs, Demolition, Ax and Smash, who as always will have their Master Fuji in their corner. Former dream team partners face each other when Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake attempts to put into a daydream none other than Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, who also has Jimmy in his corner! With more matches still yet to be added, SummerSlam looks spectacular indeed!’

“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan defeats “Iron” Mike Sharpe by pinfall.

Brother Love: ‘I love you! And I mean that with all my heart! And speaking of heart, my guests at this time, are a tag team formerly known as the Hart Foundation. They are Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart!’ The Hart Foundation walk onto the set, to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Bret “Hit Man” Hart: ‘What’s with that introduction, Brother Love?’ Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart: ‘Yeah! We’re still the Hart Foundation, baby!’ Brother Love: ‘But you’re no longer on Jimmy Hart’s books! He founded the Hart Foundation, and he named it after himself! Now you’ve left him behind!’ Bret “Hit Man” Hart: ‘We’re still the Hart Foundation, even without Jimmy. We’ll continue without him. And we’ll be successful without him. We’re going to be WWF Tag Team Championship.’ Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart: ‘Yeah, baby. We’re gonna beat Demolition at SummerSlam! They think they got the power to demolish and destroy? Well I’ll go through them with the immovable power of an anvil. And then they’ll be ours for the taking, just like their belts! Hee, hee, ha, ha!’ Suddenly, Demolition run onto the set and attack the two, only for them to fight back! Officials run to the scene to stop the fight and separate them!

A video airs heralding the imminent debut of a masked wrestler named Nemo. Vince McMahon: ‘What do we know about Nemo?’ Alfred Hayes: ‘Well, not much, Vince, but I do know that the word “Nemo” means ‘no one’ in Latin. Which is appropriate because he is no one to the World Wrestling Federation, but I’m sure he’s determined to make a name for himself.’

Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake defeats Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, with “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, by submission in under fifteen minutes after reaching the ropes to escape the Clawhammer, only to stay grounded due to an injured leg from it, and slap on Goodnight Irene on the mat to force Valentine’s hand to fall three times for the decision and become number one contender to the WWF Intercontinental Championship. However, when he tries to cut Valentine’s hair, Hart has WWF Intercontinental Champion Honky Tonk Man run in and attack Bruti and leave him lying!

Vince McMahon and Lord Alfred Hayes again wonder what was being discussed between “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan when TNT cameras caught them confabulating last week. Are they signing over the contract of a wrestler? If so, whose, and who? Could Heenan have more money for further deals thanks to his business move with DiBiase regarding Andre?

Sean Mooney (on Update): ‘We’re coming closer to the very first summer-time spectacular, SummerSlam, which will take place on Sunday night, August 14th, from the Philadelphia Spectrum! In the main event, WWF World Champion “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan face “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant, and everyone is wondering who will work most effectively as a tag team, as none of these men are particularly experienced in tag team matches. And of course Big John Studd is the special referee for the match. The Hart Foundation, Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, challenge Master Fuji’s Demolition, Ax and Smash, for the WWF Tag Team Championship. Fighting for number one contention after SummerSlam are the Powers of Pain, Warlord and Barbarian, who face the Conquistadors. Fighting for contention to the WWF Intercontinental Championship, meanwhile, are the undefeated Ultimate Warrior, and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan’s Haku. Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, meanwhile, having defeated former tag team partner Greg “The Hammer” Valentine to reclaim his number one contender spot, finally gets one last chance to defeat the WWF Intercontinental Champion he could only beat by disqualification at WrestleMania, the Honky Tonk Man, with “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart in his corner. And in a fight between the two strongest men in the World Wrestling Federation, Superstar Billy Graham’s protégé Don Muraco faces Hart’s Canadian Strongman, Dino Bravo, the former WWF Canadian Champion, with Frenchy Martin and Jos LeDuc in his corner. Brother Love: ‘I love you! Now my guest at this time is a man who knows all about love, because he has a lot of heart. He is the founder of the Hart Foundation, “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart!’ Hart enters, accompanied by his charge Dino Bravo, and Frenchy Martin, with Jos LeDuc. Brother Love: ‘Jimmy, it’s an honor to have you here, as you are the founder of the Hart Foundation. Is it true you are thinking of suing Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart for continuing to use that name without you?’ Hart: ‘That’s right, Brother Love, I’m in talks with my lawyers about it. I know what Bret and Neidhart were saying here last week. But they are not the Hart Foundation. They can never be the Hart Foundation! Because I founded the Hart Foundation, daddy! So, they wanna be without me? They can’t be the Hart Foundation any more. And they sure as heck can’t be successful. Not without me.’ Brother Love: ‘But you have Dino Bravo with you.’ Jimmy: ‘That’s right, baby.’ Frenchy Martin: ‘And he’s going to overpower Muraco at SummerSlam. I heard about him and his mentor questioning Dino’s dead-lift record!’ Dino Bravo: ‘I am the former WWF Canadian Champion, the greatest WWF Canadian Champion ever! And I am the Canadian Strongman! I hold the record for the deadlift. And for him to challenge that, is to challenge me! Well, I’ll overpower him. And I’ll beat him.’ Brother Love: ‘My, my. Well, Jimmy, there’s a lot of talent on your side here in the World Wrestling Federation. But those pesky hosts of Tuesday Night Titans, Vince McMahon and Lord Alfred Hayes, were just last week gossiping about your meeting with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. Can you give me an exclusive, by addressing the resulting rumours that you are in talks to trade or sign over talent with Bobby?’ Hart: ‘Okay, Brother Love. I’ll give you the scoop, baby! Because present company excluded, I have yet another individual involved in my group who has a storied history here in the Word Wrestling Federation. And that individual is needed by the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, and Andre the Giant! Bobby’s still got Andre’s contract, so he’s been their contact, and he’s trying to get the services of another. So I’m trying to see what I can do, and I think it’s almost a done deal! So the complexion of the main event of SummerSlam will change – thanks to “The Mouth of the South” baby! And all of you will realise the status I have here in the World Wrestling Federation!’ Brother Love: ‘Now Jimmy, you have been battling to retain the rights to the name of the Hart Foundation that was named after you, because you formed it! Now Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart are going around still using the name. But that will be settled in due time, won’t it?’ Hart: ‘That’s right, Brother Love! I have had enough of it! My own mind came up with the Hart Foundation concept, I was even the one who put together Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart at a meeting in Reno, Nevada, in 1985 after I rescued them from the dying Stampede territory! It was all my idea! And the fact that they can just throw me aside after I got them into WrestleMania II, took them to success against a great wrestler like Andre the Giant, and get them the WWF Tag Team Championship, is disgraceful! I won’t stand for it, Brother Love! Without Jimmy Hart leading his Hart Foundation, they shouldn’t even be recognised as a tag team, let alone be challenging for the belts again at SummerSlam! They will never, ever amount to anything without me. Not ever again! I refuse to be walked all over, and have my constitutional rights violated.’ Brother Love: ‘There is no wonder that you are angry, brother Jimmy. Now, SummerSlam is being held in the City of Brotherly Love! Oh yes. But although the Constitution was signed right there in that very city, what pride can the people of Philadelphia have if they cheer Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart? None! Because they are trampling all over your constitutional rights! There’s no surprise that your Fabulous Rougeaus, a real tag team, have not yet relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, from Montreal, Quebec, Canada! Why would they? The constitution is being flouted!’ Hart: ‘You’ve got it, daddy! They have too often seen the abuse I have been subjected to, and as a result, the United States is being deprived of the prestige and tourism that the Fabulous Rougeaus would bring here! I mean, even the longest-reigning WWF Intercontinental Champion of all time, the Honky Tonk Man, can’t be solely responsible for the tourism trade of a town like Memphis, Tennessee! Imagine the boon to business and the local economy for a city that’s got no other celebrities to its name, if the Fabulous Rougeaus finally relocated there! Not since my band The Gentrys has it had such spotlight. But no, Brother Love. My constitutional rights are being constantly trampled on. Just look at the song I produced, Crank It Up, using the World Wrestling Federation’s state-of-the-art production studios! What happened to it? They gave it to the Young Stallions! Two punks from New York City; another lowly tag team who don’t even deserve anything with my name on it! I’ve had enough of the abuse I’ve been subjected to, Brother Love! And at SummerSlam, it’s going to be the beginning of the end for it. Because it has to stop.’ At that moment, the Young Stallions, Jim Powers and Paul Roma, walk onto the set, outnumbering Dino Bravo, who steps back and looks at Frenchy Martin and Jos LeDuc. Brother Love: ‘The Young Stallions? Who asked you here? You might have heard your name mentioned, but I didn’t introduce you!’ Paul Roma: ‘We heard what you said about us! And so we’ve come here to set things straight. You had created that song track for the Hart Foundation. When you and them split, it became available, so we took it.’ Jim Powers: ‘Heck, you ought to be thankful we’re using your song, Jimmy!’ Hart: ‘How dare you bring up the Hart Foundation! It wasn’t a split, they abandoned me! They took all the glory for themselves, left me behind, and that technicality left my music in limbo! And you two, like two lowlifes, go and pick up someone else’s leftovers! You’re just as bad as them! This is yet another example of this supposedly fine American organisation violating my constitutional rights!’ The Young Stallions move closer to him. Paul Roma: ‘You don’t know how much we’d like to violate your rights, Hart!’ Jim Powers: ‘Who do you think you are, insulting us like that?’ Dino Bravo and Jos LeDuc step in, but the Stallions aren’t intimidated. Suddenly, the Fabulous Rougeaus run on to the set and ambush the Young Stallions, knocking them from the set to the floor. Officials rush to the scene to separate them, as Jimmy Hart screams abuse. The Fabulous Moolah walks on to the set and takes the mic from Brother Love: ‘These are the Fabulous Rougeaus! And people ought to have more respect for tradition, as well as the constitution! Well these All-American Boys will deal with you two!’
